Lifting, support and rotation of pipe on a custom drilling/cutting application.
The LJ Welding Solution:
LJ provided a full customized set of steady rest rollers used for 2 separate lathe beds. Roller wheel spacing was controlled by precision servo drives and zero backlash gearboxes for precise support, lifting and rotation of 4-42″ diameter pipe—up to 8,000 lbs per unit. V-rollers for rolling pipe axially into position. Independently controlled hydraulic brakes for holding load during drilling process included.
The Result:
LJ delivered the project on tight timelines. LJ’s customer Quickmill, based in Ontario, Canada, was able to deliver a high-end steady rest lathe support roller to their end customer in Brazil on schedule.
