Their challenge involved the need for an overhead lifting crane which posed ongoing safety risks, excessive cycle times, too much space needed and weld quality issues.

The Solution:

What we provided as a solution was:

A fully automated Kuka welding robot capable of performing adaptive seam tracking in order to provide adaptation to weld joints and geometries.
LJ addressed GE Healthcare's key challenges of weld quality and rework issues with a custom solution where the operator doesn't touch the workpiece after it has been loaded into the machine until the process is completed on the other side
